You'll likely find me at the clay studio if I'm free from obligations on most Saturdays. I've been practicing pottery for nearly a year, and since I don't know where to store all the pieces I've made, I give them away.

I wish I could come to the studio more often. But I live in the boondocks. My favorite time of each week is to check out the shelves at the studio at 10 am when the studio opens. I always submit new things to the kiln; It's fun to see the results of other people’s creations as well as my own.

I think of my friend Carin, who loves polka dots. This vase was created with her in mind. She also loves black and white. Below, I’m working on some tiles, researching different projects, and doing them on my own. It’s not as fast as taking a class, but I hope to continue learning independently.

I plan to cut tiles for kids to create various textures. These could serve as coasters for Mother’s or Father’s Day. When pottery becomes an obsession, it can be a plus since the enthusiasm spreads. It might inspire others to develop a love for clay, too!
